Hydrant System Monitoring

A Fire Hydrant is a connection point by which firefighters can tap into a water supply. It is a component of active fire protection, which require a certain amount of motion and response in order to work, contrary to passive fire protection.


In most areas fire hydrants require annual inspections and maintenance — they normally only have a one-year warranty, but some have 5- or even 10-year warranties, although the longer warranty does not remove the need for periodic inspections or maintenance. These inspections are generally performed by the local municipalities but they often do not inspect hydrants that are identified as private. Private hydrants are usually located on larger properties to adequately protect large buildings in case of a fire and in order to comply with the fire code. Such hydrants have met the requirements of insurance underwriters.


FireTweet monitors the health of Hydrant system by continuously monitoring the Hydrant line pressure and Hydrant pump’s power statuses. This gives an ability to check that the Hydrant system is functioning correctly and there is no other action that is required to be taken to improve the Hydrant system and related piping infrastructure.

Sprinkler System Monitoring

A Fire Sprinkler system is an active fire protection method, consisting of a water supply system, providing adequate pressure and flow rate to a water distribution piping system, onto which fire sprinklers are connected. Although historically only used in factories and large commercial buildings, systems for homes and small buildings are now available at a cost-effective price. Fire sprinkler systems are extensively used worldwide, with over 40 million sprinkler heads fitted each year. In buildings completely protected by fire sprinkler systems, over 96% of fires were controlled by fire sprinklers alone.


Fire Sprinkler systems are installed in all types of buildings, commercial and residential. They are usually located at ceiling level and are connected to a reliable water source, most commonly city water. A typical sprinkler system operates when heat at the site of a fire causes a glass component in the sprinkler head to fail, thereby releasing the water from the sprinkler head. This means that only the sprinkler head at the fire location operates – not all the sprinklers on a floor or in a building. Sprinkler systems help to reduce the growth of a fire, thereby increasing life safety and limiting structural damage. FireTweet monitors the health of Sprinkler system by continuously monitoring the Sprinkler line pressure and Sprinkler pump’s power statuses. This gives an ability to check that the Sprinkler system is functioning correctly and there is no other action that is required to be taken to improve the Sprinkler system and related piping infrastructure.

Fire Alarm System Monitoring

Fire alarm systems are not designed to notify the fire department of a fire in your building by themselves. They are simply designed to recognize a fire in your premises and to get everyone out of the building.


Fire is detected either by locating the smoke, flame or heat, and an alarm is sounded to enable emergency evacuation.


Fire Alarm signals are what is sent to FireTweet’s Central Monitoring Station, if a smoke detector, heat detector, fire pull station, or any other Fire Alarm System Parameter is activated in your building. On receipt of a fire alarm signal for a system, which is not on test, FireTweet will take necessary action as prescribed by the customer and follow standard operating procedure.


FireTweet also monitors the health of the entire Fire Alarm system by notifying the health of individual components of system like smoke detector, gas detector, alarm, Manual call point etc.

Fire Extinguisher Monitoring

Fire Extinguishers are important from a safety and regulatory compliance perspective and are often subject to vandalism, pressure loss, or obstruction from view. Fire Extinguishers are monitored by FireTweet on a real-time basis, contributing to lower costs and increased safety. Additionally, fire extinguisher monitoring solutions keep schools, government buildings, and private organizations' facilities compliant with local fire codes and ready to respond to emergencies.


Adding a FireTweet’s monitoring system to fire extinguishers in large facilities or on sprawling campuses allows facilities managers to continuously ensure that the extinguishers are operational, present, and unobstructed rather than relying on a manual inspection every 30 days.
